In the bowling department, the side will be looking towards the likes of Jofra Archer, Rahul Tewatia and Shreyas Iyer to make crucial breakthroughs. Pacer Jofra Archer continued his excellent form with the ball in hand and finished with figures of 2 for 21 in his four overs.
After their resounding win over Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians have reclaimed their top spot in the competition.
In their previous match, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision proved to be a correct one as Trent Boult and Jaspreet Bumrah made early inroads with the new-ball to see Chennai reeling at 21 for 5 after 5.2 overs.
Rahul Chahar and Nathan Coulter-Nile produced splendid performances to restrict Chennai Super Kings to just 114 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
For Mumbai Indians, Left-arm quick Trent Boult was the pick of the bowlers and claimed four wickets in the game. Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar and pacer Jaspreet Bumrah were in excellent in the game and claimed two wickets each.
Chasing 115 runs for victory, openers Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan produced an unbeaten 116-run partnership to help Mumbai cruise to a comprehensive win over Chennai Super Kings.
For Mumbai Indians, Ishan Kishan was the standout player with the bat and finished the innings with unbeaten 68 runs off 37 balls with the help of six fours and five sixes. He was well supported by Quinton de Kock, who chipped in with 46 not out off 37 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes.
